Lindsay Hetherington is an Associate Professor in Science Education. Her research focuses on using sociomaterial and dialogic approaches to think about education with a particular interest in science/environmental education and teacher education.

Alexandra Allan is the Head of the School of Education. Her research interests reside in the Sociology of Education. Broad areas of interest include gender, social class, ethnicity, academic achievement, and educational transitions.

Neil Harrison is an Associate Professor in Education and Social Justice. He is primarily interested in issues around decision-making and access to higher education, especially for groups who are disadvantaged or marginalised in society.

Professor Annabel Watson
Annabel Watson is an Associate Professor in Language and Literacy Education. Her research focuses on the teaching of writing with a particular focus on the role of knowledge about language in writing development, teacher cognition and agency, and writing pedagogy.

Fiona is a Professor of Language and Literacy in Education. She is the Director of Post Graduate Research. She researches children’s language and the role that dialogue can play in learning. View profile
Dr Thomas Ralph
Head of Initial Teacher Education
Thomas Ralph is a Senior Lecturer in Education. His research focuses on children who are resistant to education and the ways in which they act to reappropriate spaces in school and make their voices heard.
